I’ve been a little absent lately on social media and the blog, and that’s mostly because life has been really busy! We’ve been experiencing some fun life changes, like me starting a new job which I love! I’m working in higher education and health care policy now and it has kept me occupied in the best sense! I wanted to share with you all this delicious banana, date, almond milk smoothie – it’s not as thick as a smoothie, and it isn’t as thin as milk – so it’s somewhere in between that! But for today’s purposes, I’ll just call it a smoothie (even though it tastes like a milkshake!) Although it’s cold in most places right now, and especially now that Punxsutawney Phil called for an extra long winter – but this smoothie is so comforting and delicious that it can honestly be had any time of the year! There’s no refined sugar (the only sugar you get comes from the natural sweetness in the banana and dates) and you end up with a deliciously smooth, silky, and sweet treat!So whether you’re a smoothie for breakfast kind of person or drinking this smoothie as an after meal treat – you won’t be disappointed by this simple, delicious, and vegan drink!Print
Banana Date Smoothie
A delicious, sweet, and vegan smoothie that is filled with banana, dates, and almond milk!
- Total Time: 3 minutes
- Yield: 2 servings
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 cup of almond and cashew milk blend unsweetened (or regular unsweetened almond milk)
- 1 and ½ ripe bananas
- 3 medjool dates, pitted
- In a blender, add the ice, almond milk, bananas and date and blend until you smooth. Divide into two cups and serve cold. There might be small pieces of date on the bottom, if you don’t like the texture you can strain the mixture out – but the dates are my favorite part!
